About application

So I am going to apply for umich later this year (class of 2010) and i wanted to know how important are extra curriculars? I got 3.7 gpa (according to michigan system) and i got 34 on act. got bout 70 - 90 hours volunteering, 2-3 years college math credits after getting into a program in the summer at a university (so bout 6-10 credits). is this enough? or do i need more? also as for gpa, it has an improvement curve, heard that looks good. plus i got a brother at umich, will that help? I am at a high school that is pretty good, its hard to get a’s; example, in english class 93% is an A-, 92.9% is B+, my teacher said something about umich taking this into credit. I took about 8-9 ap’s with 5 in senoir year.

final thing, which is easiest to get into? lsa, engineering, or ross?

Wow you have a pretty good chance of getting in i’d say. If you are good at math and your scores are best at math compared to the other subjects then apply engineering because they only look at your math scores…but it looks like you should have no problem applying to either lsa or engineering. I dont know much about ross besides its nearly impossible to get in to. Since you dont have any sports extra curricular’s write your essay on service…I think UM eats that kind of stuff up. I got into engineering early action with SAT Math 730, 3.8 gpa, 80 or so service hours, nhs, all state for swimming.
Good luck, but i wouldnt fret to much. You seem to be an easy in at UM.
