Hello, all!
I am an undergraduate currently studyingas a bachelor in Germany and my nationality is China.
Although I am now studying Information Technology in the University of Applied Science of Luebeck and have taken no classes relevant to political science at all(thus I have no credits of philosophical courses and training), I have long been interested in political philosophy and I have decided to apply for M.A of political philosophy. As I did my research on the internet, it appears that almost every university with philosophy department has requirements on credits on philosophical courses. I was wondering if there can be some college departments that will at least consider about the applications from students like me?
You don’t need an undergraduate degree in the same field, but you need to show that you’ve at least done the lower coursework in preparation for the specific advanced work in the graduate school.
You should write directly to some of the grad schools with this question as well as find a mentor at your current college (or a nearby one) who can guide you. My guess is that you need to start taking some philosophy courses to gain those phil. credits.
Thank you so much for your anwer! I have been searching for a mentor in my university, and up to now I have not found one. Guess I’ll continue searching.
