<p>Colleges just want to see that you have made the most of the opportunities offered to you. Make a statement in your essay and high-light how you did this, and there’s good things to come.</p>
<p>I’m an international student myself, but I don’t have this handicap because I come from the most urbanized part of my entire country. Still, if you have pulled yourself up of your own accord, colleges will give you heavier weight than a student with many opportunities who has not utilized them. Think about it!</p>
