about that time!

I believe my S has heard all the “wisdom” from me that he can stand. I guess the time is drawing near to back way off and let him go. I hope and pray he is ready.

I feel for ya. Yes, let go. You’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner for your own mental health.

You will be able to offer all of the wisdom you want via emails once he is gone- he can choose to ignore/scan or read them at his leisure. I usually delete mine on a regular basis but was surprised to find son had actually kept mine to him. Emails are neutral territory, especially when the son receiving them feels no obligation to respond to any requests for a reply.

Don’t worry- he’s ready. This doesn’t mean you are no longer needed, just in different ways. Sometimes you have to dredge your memory banks and think about yourself at the same age. So much less wisdom/experience than now, but that’s life.
