About the machine-reading card

When I was taking the May SAT, I wanted to rub out an answer. But unfortunately I rubbed so hard that the paper was slightly scraped, that is, the letter “A” itself was actually scraped off the paper!
I am really worried about this. Can the machine recognise my answer???

Listen, your score is probably already determined and stored on a hard drive/one of Collegeboard’s servers. As much as you want us to reassure you that it will be ok, there’s honestly no way of knowing. You will get your scores in 4 days, there’s honestly nothing you can do now. I hope the machine worked in your favor though.

If the machine cannot clearly read an answer, the paper is kicked out and looked at by a person – it’s called “resolution.” If there is a hole in your paper, or a mark that could either be a weakly filled-in or poorly-erased choice, that’s what will happen.
