Academic award recipients notified after ED deadline?

<p>Hey guys, </p>

<p>This has definitely come up before, but I’m just looking to clarify that the ‘honors’ section under education is strictly for academic awards like math contests, etc.? </p>

<p>So, something like a piano award wouldn’t belong under honors? </p>

<p>Another thing-
I’m definitely going to receive departmental awards (highest mark) for a few courses I took last year, but my school officially notifies the recipients after the November ED deadline. (I know because we have a relatively small grade, and because marks spread quickly.) I’d really like to include these awards on my app, so I asked our admin whether they could let the award winners know a little early. It doesn’t look like they’ll budge, though. Any thoughts?</p>

<p>You could write “expecting” in front of the award. So you would write something like:</p>

<p>Expecting Super-special Math Award, December 2013.</p>

<p>I wouldn’t mention them until they’re confirmed. Just send emails to the schools once you’ve received the awards:</p>

<p>*I’d appreciate your adding the following info to my file:</p>

<p>Spring 2012 Academic Honors Award Winner.</p>

<p>Thank you.*</p>

<p>I’ll try and remember if I have any more awards to list, but I feel like I won’t put them on my app till they’re confirmed.</p>
