Academic Common Market + Scholarships

The major I applied for at Maryland is not offered at any of my state universities - I am eligible to pay in-state tuition under the Academic Common Market program. There was nothing on the UMD application to indicate ACM status. I was awarded an 8,000/year Presidential Scholarship and a $12,000/year Engineering Scholarship. These scholarships were probably earmarked for OOS students paying the 21k OOS tuition. Do you think Maryland will let me keep these two scholarships, amounting to easily a full ride for someone paying in-state rates? I am going to call UMD to talk to them about this situation tomorrow, but I am curious to see if anyone has been in a similar situation.

I realize this is a very late response, but could you tell me what they said when you called? I am a senior now and in the exact same position. I’m worried they’ll take away the merit money because I’ll recieve in-state rates. Thanks!

DS has same status as you and OP.
Confirmed today through Undergraduate Studies office that
his ACM status has no impact on the merit scholarship award.
Also received exact same response from two current ACM students
in the on-line UMD chat last week.
So congratulations!

What state and major did you qualify for ACM status and how did you come to hear about the ACM?
