Anybody know about Yale’s AI system? Is it really on a 1-9 scale? How much weighting is it given in the process?

Yes, it is a 1-9 scale, at least for ECs, academics, and the alumni interview. Read this site to get a better understanding about how you are ranked for the alumni interview: http://www.yale.edu/asc/guidelines/writing.html

In general, ALL applicants should read the whole alumni interviewer site: http://www.yale.edu/asc. It has a lot of valuable information that will help you prepare your applications. It even has movies!

A few of the newsletters have case studies of individual applicants that you can use to see how you stack up. Find them here: http://www.yale.edu/asc/newsletter/index.html

Good luck!

Dave, you’re hardcore!

thanks a lot!!

Wow…I’ve always thought that the interview didn’t matter too much. It seems like the interview really makes or breaks your application.

…

I guess that makes sense; the interview should be used to determine between 2 applicants which one is better for Yale --so it really can play a big role. On the other hand, it can just confirm what’s presented in your application…

Holy crap!!! This basically spells out the interview! I will definitely prepare for this interview based on tis info!!! Thanks
