A quick question about the academics at WashU. How much do the kids study and does it get stressful to the point of depression at any time?

It varies, as it will everywhere. I think most of it depends on what grades you are satisfied with, and what your major is. One of my friends doesn’t do much and gets great grades (easy major), another doesn’t do much and gets Bs. Another doesn’t do much (of anything) and is verging on academic probation. For the most part though, everyone studies a tolerable amount, maybe a little more if they are really trying for that 4.0. I’m absolutely the worst procrastinator I know, on top of a work intensive major. If I want to socialize as well, then that just means that I generally get very little sleep during the most stressful weeks, but that’s my choice, and hopefully I get better at not procrastinating… I will say though, I dont think I’ve ever verged on depression.
