I wanted some help looking for **academic/b safeties, other than my state universities. Quick summary, my SAT (reasoning + subject) scores are very high to perfect, 4.00 unweighted GPA, over 8 AP tests with 5’s on them. I have my laundry list of outside activities with leadership and a small handful of small recognition awards. I want to major in computer science.

Most importantly, I am looking for schools to apply early action nonrestrictive to alongside Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Caltech is a no for me (personal preferences). Case Western is the only other early action school I have in mind right now.

If you’re not interested in financial safeties then look at large state Us known for CS: UIUC, U Washington, Ga Tech.

**EA among privates **
Clark
Fordham
Northeastern
Trinity U
Tulane
U Denver
WPI

A few notes:
– Boston College, Chicago, Georgetown, and Notre Dame also have EA but probably wouldn’t be safeties.
– Miami and Rochester technically have EA, but they notify rather late (January/February).
– Most of the LACs with EA (Beloit, Colorado College, Lewis & Clark, etc.) don’t seem to be terribly strong in computer science.

EA among publics
Georgia Tech, Michigan, Purdue, U Mass, and U Pitt (rolling) would be worth a look and notify in December or a bit earlier.

Other publics have EA and/or rolling admissions, but many of them (Maryland, Rutgers, UNC, UVA, Wisconsin, etc.) notify in January.

As a caveat, I am not at all sure how the computer science programs at some of these schools stack up. These lists are not intended to be all-inclusive, and I’m sure I missed some.

Thanks for the help. The EA schools don’t have to be safeties.
