Good luck, may each day bring you closer to your goals.
May you be open to back up plans as many have suggested, in case your appeal does not get approved on your first try.
you don’t think the appeal will be successful, or you don’t think that I would be successful if approved?
I do not think the appeal will be successful. I do think that you can be successful after you get some help and develop more effective study habits.
@blossom and @compmom are giving terrific advice.
No one can predict the outcome of your appeal. Whatever happens, I agree with others that if you were my student, I would want you to medically withdraw this semester and take some time off to work on fixing the problems rather than learning to swim while you’re in the middle of the river. I wish you the best with whatever path you take.
Love the metaphor of learning to swim while in the middle of the river @Hanna.
@purplequality a medical withdrawal now might wipe your slate clean. At some schools you have to prove ability to function well in order to come back. But a medical leave could eliminate the hits on your GPA at some schools, and give you time to get meds and a routine going.
I remember one student included this option in their appeal letter…I don’t remember the details but it is another option to negotiate with the school.
OP- I am usually over-prepared with a Plan B and often a Plan C. When life goes my way, I don’t need a backup… I get what I want. More often than not though, there are things beyond my control, and that’s when having a Plan B is useful.
I have my fingers crossed that your suspension appeal is successful, that your healthcare team is able to get you what you need when you need it and that it’s efficacious right from the start, and that you enjoy your classes next semester and feel a sense of empowerment that you are doing great at college.
If that isn’t the case-- mentally preparing a Plan B can help! Good luck.
Not sure if anyone will see this but I just wanted to update that my appeal got approved!
Great news and thanks for the update. Best wishes moving forward.
Thank you for returning to share this fantastic news! Best wishes as you navigate your next steps. You can do this.
