Academic Violation--> how do I tackle this on my common app? Please help me!

So I was looking at the common app and other college sites and noticed the academic violation thing. I was wondering how I should deal with this…here is the story.

Our HS makes teachers sign you up for classes. During 9th grade My teacher was a B*tch and decided to drop me from the Honors Math class and put me in regular PreCalculus ( I had an 86 in Geometry Honors). I was horrified and of course thought that I could handle the Honors class and in that spur of the moment, added Honors to the sheet.

Come 10th grade and of course I am doing horribly in PreCalc Honors and my parents go to talk to my teacher. My teacher apparently had gone to talk to my Geometry Honors teacher to ask how I was in that class, and she obviously showed him the records and they realized what I had done.

My parents opposed it but finally I told them the truth and the Math Dean.
Long story short the school gave me a one day In School Suspension.

I am so scared to put this on my Common App and while I seriously want to lie, I know that they will contact my counselor and he will mention it 100%.

Am I doomed from getting into any college? I know what I did was bad but I mean I just wanted to take a higher math class…

Please tell me what I should do. Please!

You don’t call your teachers cursewords. Your teacher did not cause this problem; you did. You demonstrate some character, because it permeates everything you do. You tell the truth. Yes, they will check. I’d accept someone who completely fessed up to a dishonorable act any day over one who justified it or blamed others for his own actions.

What did you think was going to happen here? You would magically acquire math skills that you did not possess and suddenly do wonderfully well in a class that was too fast for you? That teacher was trying to do you a favor and put you in a class in which you could excel. If you did not agree, you should have approached it honorably, and requested a variance and stated your case.

While you didn’t do the worst thing in the world, you still broke the rules. The only thing you can do now is tell the truth. Write about it thoughtfully. Write about what you’ve learned from it. Do not blame your 9th grade math teacher. Show that you’ve grown from the incident.
