academically adrift

has anyone read this new book and if so what did you think? it notes that college students study less now and also learn less (even at selective schools) and costs are rising

kayakmom,

This book is on my reading list.

Here’s a presentation by the two authors: [Academically Adrift on Vimeo](Academically Adrift on Vimeo)

Study less is easier to substantiate than learn less…

^ Why? I would have thought it’s the other way round. Figuring out how much people study usually means relying on what they say. The book judges that they learn less based on a standard critical thinking test.
