Right now my college list is very reach-heavy and I was wondering if anyone could provide some more match schools in the midwest or east coast that are located in a city, medium or large sized, are very academically strong in both the humanities and sciences, and have friendly, open minded student body? Don’t qualify for need based aid, so if I could find some great match schools that offer merit aid that would be awesome.
Here is my current list:
Harvard
Yale
Stanford
Brown
UPenn
WashU
Duke
Princeton
Emory
Boston University
Northeastern
- state flagship. it is my safety but i'd be more than happy to attend with scholarship.
The only matches I have so far are : Emory, Boston U., & Northeastern
Here are my stats and other info:
ACT: 34 (waiting for writing score, anticipating 10-12)
3.9 UW GPA
I have taken the most challenging course load I could at my school and will graduate having taken 10 AP classes.
ECs: unconventional, focused and in depth with the main things i love (writing, literacy, social justice)
Work experience: unpaid science research internship at a lab throughout high school. i have presented at regional meetings but no big awards or science fair stuff. mostly do it for the fun experience and to learn more about the field so I never really thought too much about awards and competitions though those would have been nice to have.
Volunteer experience: tutoring and mentoring through my ECs
demographics-
really unhooked aside from my ECs lol
female, asian, high income (don’t qualify for need based aid)
other- i really enjoy writing and hope to make my essays really strong and illustrative. reccs will be outstanding as i am requesting them from teachers who know me really well inside and outside of the classroom. projected majors: Women and Gender Studies, International Relations, or Psychology.
So now with all this in mind, what are a few great schools that I could definitely be a match at and should consider adding to my list? Thank you!
