I’m with you, Mimk6. There’s a time and a place for a little blue language and an event like the Academy Awards is neither the time nor the place.

^^^

I also agree.

Perhaps my mistake was in thinking the Oscars or anything Hollywood is a “classy event”.

It isn’t, which was obvious by Crystal’s frequent off color jokes.

Did anyone watch American Idol last night and Steven Tyler’s “wardrobe malfunction” directed at Jennifer Lopez. It was pretty funny!!

Another funny one.

[Legbombing: Artists Go Nuts With Angie’s Right Leg](<a href=“HuffPost - Breaking News, U.S. and World News | HuffPost”>Legbombing: Artists Go Nuts With Angie's Right Leg | HuffPost Entertainment)

That legbombing thing is a riot. I like the one using Munch’s “The Scream” the best. :D

Saw “Hugo” today in 3D in a little movie theatre, and LOVED it!

I saw “The Artist” today and loved it. I thought I would when I saw the poster. Just a feeling I had.

Anyway…I just connected to the movie. The actors, the music, the look, the dog…all great to me.

I really wanted things to work out. The lead actors were incredible. I can’t remember their names. You know the male…the guy who won the Academy Award. I was glad to see that. The star kind of reminded me of Gene Kelly.

I didn’t see that many movies this year…but I would have been happy if the lead actress
won too. I really felt her emotions. I had to remind myself that this wasn’t real. When I first saw her on the screen…I thought she wasn’t attractive enough. By the end of the movie…I changed my mind.

D2 told me the same thing, that Jean Dujardin reminded her of Gene Kelly.

I had the same sentiments about Berenice Bejo as it relates to early impressions of her which changed by the end of the movie.

I didn’t really think I would like the movie, but I was very wrong!

nrdsb4…I am happy to read that your d2 knows who Gene Kelly is. :)

^^^^^^D2 and I have watched Singing In The Rain together many times! :)

:)…

One of my favorite movies…

Singin’ in the Rain was an obvious influence on The Artist, to the extent that many classic film buffs have called it a blatant rip off.

Yikes, “a blatant rip off.” That’s harsh. It also recalled Citizen Kane, in some ways, and A Star is Born…

If you liked Jean Dujardin in The Artist, be sure to see his hilarious parody of James Bond in the French language films “OSS 117:Cairo, Nest of Spies” and “OSS 117: Lost in Rio,” by the same director. They are a total hoot!
