Acceptance rate for Honors Program?

Does anyone know the acceptance rate to Tulanes Honors Program? I was accepted and I want to compare it to other top colleges.

Generally about 10-15% of the incoming class is in the Honors Program. But I don’t think using that as a metric for comparison is meaningful in any way. Being in the program gives you a couple of advantages, and I have discussed them elsewhere on the Tulane forum (maybe 2-3 months ago?). But frankly it isn’t at all like being in an Honors College at some state schools because Tulane is already highly selective with high stats for most incoming freshmen. I just wouldn’t factor it into your decision much.

In looking at your resume you posted (numerous times!) elsewhere, Tulane seems like a good fit for you. But of course a lot of the other schools you are waiting to hear from and where you have a decent chance of being accepted are also quite excellent. I think your best bet is to be patient at this point, although that doesn’t seem to be in your nature, and wait to see where you get in when the dust clears. That would then be a good time to compare and come back to ask questions about specifics.

BTW, the comment about you not seeming patient wasn’t a jab at all. You just seem quite anxious about all this, which is normal. But you are in at least one great school, so you know you have the chance to attend a place that meets most of your criteria, from what I was able to gather. And with a nice scholarship!

Haha thanks for the advice. Yes, I can be impatient at times and some of my posting has definitely been overkill, so I’ll try and be patient.

Are all your other schools RD?

I applied to a few EA but the bulk will be RD

Did you get into any of the other EA ones?

So far just Fordham

So the others won’t be coming until March sometime, probably. I guess that is what you are saying. Well, agonizing as that is, trust me when I say that come April 1, you have 30 days to decide all this and that is plenty of time to talk to some folks on here and elsewhere, do so more research on your own, and make the best decision you can. There is no crystal ball, that’s for sure. In the end you just have to take all that information and go with your head and your instincts. In the meantime, just try and have fun!! It will keep your mind off of this. You have done all you can.

Thanks so much for your help! I’ll definitely take that advice :)
