Acceptance Statistics

Does anyone have a link to how many applicants Penn accepted? Specifically to Wharton?

I think this link may be what you’re looking for…

ivysuccess.com is for sale;

The admissions director really stuck it to the local suburban high achieving HS. Unless kids applied ED, most very qualified applicants were WL’d. In the past, they would easily have gotten in. Faculty kids were included in this- thanks, Penn for all the many years of service. As the parent of a D there (who got in ED a couple of years ago), I have become extremely underwhelmed with Penn. It’s like a slightly smaller, much more expensive, state school.
Good luck to all.

So you’re complaining that Penn has become more meritocratic…ok?

One can’t complain that students now not only have to work harder than most, but also smarter than most. Imagine if just any student could get in… then it wouldn’t be an Ivy.

I’m sorry your child didn’t get in. However, I think this goes to show that if you have family hooks, you really do need to apply ED to benefit.

Your post is rather paradoxical though when you think about it - high achieving students are finding it tougher to be admitted…therefore Penn is becoming a glorified state school.

I for one am glad the admissions director changed it up. My parents did not attend college and i do not attend a high qualifying suburban high school. I mean i’m sorry your child or someone you know was rejected, but now the playing field is a little more leveled, for RD at least.
