@teewhy I know you must be very proud of your daughter! Eight acceptances and first disappointment, not too shabby. (Although I know is hurts for our D’s, regardless.) Boston and Blair were equal to #1 choice for music for my D. And at this point we live with the reality that the “dream” schools might not be in our future. (Boston accepted w/ less $ then anticipated and Blair WL) Yes, the journey continues and I can’t wait to see where they land!! Best of luck to you and your girl! Glad we can all support each other here!

Here is the update:
D Vocal Performance (Soprano) w/ dual major Neuroscience: Duquesne Pre-med, Syracuse University Neuroscience, American University Neuroscience, Boston University Vocal Performance, Blair School of Music at Vanderbilt “waitlisted” vocal performance.
Our approach in choice of major to apply music vs academics was strategic. I thought? LOL. Not sure if we made the right decisions along the way. Now we may appeal for a VP major at Syracuse to get closer to a full scholarship when combined w/ Tuition Exchange Scholarship, academic merit award, and a potential music merit award. Syracuse “bundles” awards… It’s like PROGRESSIVE. I hope we get Flo in admissions!!!
I will also share disappointing moments along the way: rejected at Case Western, and rejected at GW.
High fives, pats on the back, shouts out loud to you @tableforsix for keeping this going! It’s a beautiful thing!!!

O I C … thanks for clearing that up. And true, everybody’s experience IS going to be different and there are varying factors that come into play. Like I found out today that the fact that we’re Catholic and one of my kid’s recommendations ( A very GOOD one!!) was from our Parish Priest who sees him at mass every week either altar serving or playing his clarinet with the choir, had something to do with one of the grants he received. Who knew !!! So yea… YMMV for sure !

We are getting closer to a decision: Syracuse or Boston. (And fingers crossed off waitlist for Blair.)

Official decision letter from Tufts came today via portal; no financial info for a few more days. No idea if all the $$ would be through Tufts or a combination of NEC/Tufts. If they are in the vicinity of BU, it’s worth a call. I do need to more closely compare the programs in that case. This is awfully tense!

Has anyone received VIOLA results from eastman? All my daughter’s friends (who play other instruments) have already heard and we’re wondering why viola hasn’t been announced yet.
@arehorst Just asked D, she says she has one violist friend that’s been accepted at Eastman, so they’re coming! I know, it’s awful when they don’t all come out at once. Good luck, and hang in there!
