My D just accepted to Boston U this AM as a College of Fine Arts Scholar. Waiting on Vanderbilt, Northeastern, George Washington, and Bucknell. Best offer to date: Duquesne full scholarship, including partial room and board (direct admit Pre-med program. She solely applied for academics there). She will likely dual major Pre-med and music at Duquesne. Anyone here from the others we are waiting on above?
UCLA acceptance, no email, we just checked the portal because her friends were telling her they got updates on a status. YAY!!! My kid was hoping and praying to get into UCLA, we just have to confirm that she is getting the voice teacher she wants. He is on board, but we need to confirm with the dean. Very exciting times!

We got an acceptance to Oberlin, with merit money. (My son is VP bass-baritone.) It was an email to check the portal (merit award given in the acceptance message). We also got an additional merit scholarship to Lawrence and two to Aaron Copeland. We decided against Royal Accademy of Music, so now we are awaiting MSM and Eastman, as well as financials (hurry, please!!!) on SMTD.

It’s been an interesting couple of days here- waitlisted at UCLA and CMU, but an offer for Boston U came in with a staggering scholarship offer, so we are just thrilled. It will cost less than half of what it would for our state university!! ???
We love Boston and the city vibe there, as well as the plentiful arts. This single offer has made all the work and expense of travel pay off. I’m not a crier but if I have some wine later, you never know.

Such great news!! i’m happy dancing over here!! @coloraturagirl that BU offer is extraordinary— what a great surprise. I remember having this exact same sensation of “whhaaa?” as some schools offered no merit and others piled it on like Aladdin’s lamp. THIS is what it’s all about, and to me, why all the extra work of auditioning at so many schools is worth it. You just never know.

It’s thrilling because of the city, the semester abroad that’s part of the curriculum, and the merit $$ of course, but it’s also very validating because so many people questioned my decision to apply to so many schools and to travel. This makes me feel like we did the right thing 
It will be the best weekend here in a long time.
