This is a new school for DS. Oos, ranked 1/600, sat 1500, 13 ap ( so far 6. 5s) two varsity sports, volunteer etc.
do oos ever hear in December? Or is it always January?

As far as I know it is random. Half the people hear in december and other half in january. Not sure if applying early even helps getting a decision in december but no harm in trying if everything is ready.

You need to submit by the EA deadline for merit aid. There is the Stamps Eminence and Morrill scholarship cohorts which have a supplemental application.
The Biomedical Science major also requires an early supplemental application.
S24 applied EA OOS with UW 4.0, W 4.21, 1440 SAT. He got accepted to pre-Aero Eng in Dec with $14.5K merit/year and scholar. Good Luck.
Here’s something that seems like a change from prior year applications:
" By meeting the early action deadline, you’ll get an admission decision on either December 13 (Ohio residents and Stamps Eminence applicants) or January 24 (non-Ohio residents and international applicants)."
