Since the wait-list forum is getting quite long…I was just wondering if there are actually students who’s accepted but not attending to give the wait-list students some hope!?

What do you mean? Accepted students or Wait listers students?

i was accepted but not going. ill probably withdraw soon to free up some pple on the wait list. tough school to turn down, but scholarships were the decision maker

I’ll know March 31st.

Accepted and not going

I don’t think I’ll be going. I got into Cal, which has been my dream school for God knows how long. It’s difficult to turn down WashU though :/

I probably won’t go either. I got into JHU, which is my top school now, and still have to find out about the Ivies (which I will probably get rejections from).

You can have my spot, Im not going

Accepted…but I will make my decision when I hear about scholarships and FA.

two people i know aren’t going. one is heading to university of chicago and the other to brown. About 4 others I know will not attend either from my area.

On a side note, I met Nanette at 5am yesterday! haha

I’m not sure, but this sounds like 1 person declining admission = 1 person off the wait list to the accepted group. I’m not sure it works that way, since so many more people are offered admission than are expected to accept. Some schools don’t get to their wait lists some years.

don’t worry…Wash U does not accept to their full capacity and many people decide not to go due to the brand name of other schools…lots of people get wait listed…and anyway if you can go here…do go here…I love it!!!

I think WashU’s matriculation is 34%…

i’m going to USC instead of Wash U.

im not going either

Not attending either.

wherer is everyone going that turned down wash u? just curious

My D is not attending

Accepted, going to MIT instead.

A note about the wait list: Wash U admitted a LOT of kids to fill their 1500 or so spots that they wrote about on their acceptance letter (otherwise, their acceptance rate would’ve been something like 10%!). So, one person not attending definitely does NOT mean 1 spot for someone off of the wait list.

Accepted, going to Rice instead! wooooot
