OK, I am a little confused. My son received a letter indicating he was accepted at Cal State Fullerton. On his student portal it shows Plan: biological science “accept/decline”, then underneath that Degree: Bachelor of Science “Waitlist Option”.

What does that mean? He has been accepted at CSUF, but what does the Waitlist next to the degree mean?

I don’t see this area next to other schools he has been accepted to.

I think BioSci is an impacted major at CSUF. He got into the school but he is waitlisted for his major. He probably has to wait to be accepted for that major, or he can change his major later on. It’s not really anything big. Don’t worry about it. For the first two years, people do their GE anyway.

I remember talking to a CSUF rep about how I wanted to change my major and he said it’s possible since the first two years are GE courses.

Those are just options that are there for everyone.
If you click “View Detailed Information for This Application” it will give you your son’s actual status. If he was fully accepted than the wait list option button would still be there, but won’t apply for him.

If he plan to go to Fullerton then he should press the Accept/Decline button. I think after you press it, they will give you steps to accept the admission and pay a 250$ deposit.
