Accepted decision from top school, rejected by easier ones

Hi! As decisions are starting to roll out, I didn’t feel stressed. I already accepted my decision to one of the top universities in the world, and were accepted by other high ranking international ones. However, after I accepted my decision from my (soon to be) college, I seem to be getting rejected by schools(one of which I am a legacy to) that aren’t nearly as good as the one I’m going to. Did my college notify these other schools? Are they aware that I won’t be going to their school? Am I just not the right fit for these schools? Please help my anxious mind!

No. No. Who knows.

Don’t let your ego get in your way. Congrats. You got handed the big screen TV. Don’t grumble about not winning the fruit basket.

Those schools have different criteria and different standards for students they desire. Additionally, you may be a borderline candidate who fell into the accepted pile for one and rejected for the others.
However, as the above poster says, it matters little now. You are where you wanted to be.

Actually you should simply notify the others that you are no longer interested-helps them move to other students who may be waiting for that one offer.

Tell your anxious mind that this is just the wild weird and makes-no-sense college admissions these days. That’s ait in a nutshell.
