Accepted GPA Question...(HSSEAS)

I noticed that the average GPA for HSSEAS last year was 4.42…this seems absolutely crazy to me.

As a hopeful applicant who had a 3.93 or 3.96 when I applied(Not sure 100% on the UC GPA), do I still have a shot?

Also, does being an Eagle scout help for UCLA? I understand they look heavily at EC’s

They don’t really look too heavily at EC’s. there’s nearly 100,000 applicants, its not like smaller universities that will spend a long time mulling over your application. if they see a low gpa, they won’t care about your EC’s unless it’s something amazing. however, you seem to have a pretty high GPA, so you should be fine, and eagle scout will probably give you a small boost, but it’s not going to make your application

Hi Stan, how important are freshman grades and senior schedules? Thanks!

I don’t know if I was that clear in my original post, but the GPA I said was my weighted GPA. It just seems too low to have a chance

Throck, try to calculate your uc GPA. If you’re oos, no honors classes can be weighted. For in state, check with your school to see what classes are uc honors approved.
