Accepted to The American Musical and Dramatic Academy

I just got accepted to AMDA in Los Angeles, CA. I am a high school senior and trying to decide if they are the right school for me. I have heard both good and bad and just want some honest answers. Need answers right away because they want my tuition deposit by March 20, 2009. Thank You.

I would be concerned about needing the tuition deposit so soon. Most colleges suggest a deposit but will wait until you are sure of your choice. What’s the rush?

Yes I agree. It feels like they are pressuring me and I am still waiting to see if I have been accepted to USC (University Southern California). I thought May 1 was the appropriate acceptance date.

May 1 is the appropriate acceptance date for schools that belong to the National Association for College Admission Counseling. I am willing to bet that since AMDA is a proprietary school (a for-profit business which provides education and training), they are not a member, possibly not even eligible for membership. Therefore they can set their own rules and deadlines. However, I am also willing to bet that should you pass the March deadline, and later decide to accept, they would be more than willing to accommodate you.
