Accepted/Waitlisted to UCSD and UCLA for Fall 2015 with Low GPA/High SAT/Good ECs

If anyone was accepted or waitlisted to UCSD and UCLA for this fall with a low gpa but a good application otherwise, could you please state your major, stats, and extracurriculars? I have a low gpa but otherwise good app so I would like to compare myself to other students. Thank you!

Define “Low GPA,” please; for some students on CC, that’s a 3.8. What is your UC-weighted GPA, and are you a CA resident? Are you applying to an “impacted” program? My son was accepted to UCSD as a liberal arts student in 2014, from out-of-state. His school did not weight grades, and his unweighted GPA was just 3.3-3.4. He was in the full IB program, with some additional APs, though, and so his UC-weighted academic GPA was over 4.0.

@woogzmama my UC weighted gpa is a 3.96, and I will be applying as a biological sciences major
