So I started applying to Lawrence Technological University around mid-July, but only finished the main part of the application (name, address, major, etc. ) as well as sent my ACT and SAT scores to them. However, I did not yet pay for my application, send in my REQUIRED essay, or have my teacher send in my letter of recommendation.
How is this possible?
Because LTU really wants you to attend. Remember, they’re located among some very big rivals and when they find qualified applicants, they’ll lock you down.
Finally, most non-top tier schools use essays only to appear more discerning about their applicants. As long as a student meets GPA & score minimums, they’re going to accept and work feverishly to get you to attend.
You probably appeared as way above their threshold for GPA and test scores, so they wanted to make sure that you knew they wanted you at their school.
Be aware that what has happenned with your application is not a rare event among colleges that are not in any top tier. Some of those will admit even before all required materials are in, particularly if you submit something like test scores that show you are better than the average that is usually submitted.
