Hi, I just received an email from the Northeastern University Admissions Office telling me that my admissions decision was out, so I checked my account and saw that I was accepted. First of all, does anyone know why I got my decision at this time when it specifically says on everywhere I've checked that RD decisions are released April 1st? Don't get me wrong, I'm psyched to have gotten in... it's just a little weird and I was wondering if anyone could relate or possibly explain it. Could the fact that I'm legacy have contributed?

Secondly, I kind of expected to get a merit scholarship but didn't see anything relating to that or Financial aid, though it did say they are pleased to present me with a "tentative offer of financial assistance". Is there a chance that any merit scholarships/FA will be given to me later on?

Didn't want to sound pretentious or anything by saying that i "expected" a scholarship its just...well my stats are higher than many of the people who were accepted with scholarships in the past.

PS Sorry for the long post.

dont have legacy but i got accepted too.

Did it say on your online app status?

Congrats! When did you apply ?

Did they send you an email? or something?

Congrats though (:!

thanks. i applied around December 15th after being deferred ED from my top choice.

My daughter received an acceptance early admission and no mention of aid. I finally called them this week and they told me that I had not filed the CSS profile, which I had. They investigated and found that I had entered her SS # incorrectly. So, I had to do a few things to remedy that.
So, I would just call and inquire if I were you. If I hadn't, we would just be thinking there was no aid, which still may be the case but we at least want to be considered.

thanks icebat. I emailed the financial aid office, admissions office and my regional admissions officer but haven't heard back. I'll give it a few more days and then will call.
