Accepting Financial Aid

I was given a grant by UofC as part of the FA offer. I’m really confused at this point–there were no instructions on how to “accept” the grant or anything. Is it something I confirm online?

If you enrolled, the grant would be automatically accepted. It would show up on your bill as an amount subtracted from the full cost of attendance. That is, it would be credited to your balance “paid.”

For example, if tuition is $50,000 and you get a $40,000 grant, then your bill will say, in a very simplified version:

Charge: $50,000
Credit: $40,000
Balance: $10,000

So you’ll owe 10k. Of course, the bill and accompanying grant is split into three (or more if you opt for a monthly payment plan) pieces each year, so you won’t actually see $50,000 on your bill at one time (unless you rank up that much in unpaid tuition and late fees? o_o).

Oh awesome, thanks for clearing that up!

Just for your information, the billing information is now on cMore. Just log in and go to the student account information page. If you didn’t do the healthcare waiver yet, that will be on there. However, as of yesterday, it didn’t give a due date. I think it’s sometime during the second week of September.

The parent calendar my dad received notes September 18 as the due date for Autumn quarter.
