Accepting or Declining Offer

My son applied to his ED school and got accepted. However, he is having concerns and it gave him the option to accept or decline his offer of admissions once he got accepted. Can he decline the offer? Isn’t it binding?

At this point in time (April), wouldn’t an admission offer from an ED school only have occurred after the ED application was deferred to RD (and therefore no longer binding)?

Also, a typical ED admission includes an escape route if the financial aid offer is insufficient to make it affordable to the student.

Same answer as before.

Sharing accounts is not permitted on CC, as such closing thread as the answer won’t be any different. ED is binding and it is unethical to not withdraw other applications.

Technically, he’s misrepresenting himself by pretending to be the parent, which is also prohibited.
