Access to historical immigration records made easier

The federal agency that helps immigrants become U.S. citizens is offering a new service for people who are researching their family trees.</p>

<p>The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services said today it is allowing public access to historical records documenting the arrival and naturalization of millions of immigrants.</p>

<p>The program will make available records for those who arrived earlier than 1940 and who naturalized between September 27, 1906 to April 1, 1956.
