Accessories for New IPad

Spouse has just acquired a new IPad and has a birthday in a couple of days. Looking for suggestions for accessories that IPad users have found that they enjoy using with this new gadget! It came with a case…so no recs for a case. Thanks!

Absolutely love the Logitech slim cover. It uses a magnet to hold the keyboard on the ipad and when you use it as a cover it uses the magnets just like an Apple cover does to put the ipad to sleep. The keypad works well and makes a nice stand, too. I litte pricey but I have found it worth it for the uses I make of the iPad for work.

I didn’t buy an apple cover, I bought a case that protects both sides and converts to a stand.
There are a couple keyboard cases I have been looking at,but so far nothing is perfect because I don’t want battery drain or a lot of weight. Some things on kick starter though.

I’m currently thinking of getting AirPlay speakers and maybe a stylus pen for art applications.

But until he knows how he is going to use it, the best accessory is probably just a iTunes credits to buy apps.

Forgot- I did buy an iPad bag.

I’d recommend the Apple bluetooth keyboard.

ITunes gift cards.

My setup is a Zagg invisible shield, an Apple wireless keyboard and something called WingStand. The Zagg shield not only protects the screen but it reduces glare so I can read without being annoyed by reflections. The WingStand is 2 clips that slide on the keyboard. You then drop the iPad in and it looks like a laptop. Cost is $15.

Note: If you get a Zagg or other screen cover, don’t get a leather cover because the oils from your fingers will leach dye from the leather into the Zagg cover. The marks will likely be on the edges but they’re not pretty. I would get a protector that’s installed because doing it yourself leaves bubbles, etc. Zagg has kiosks in malls, usually near an Apple Store.

I have ordered the IPad camera connection. I am looking forward to downloading my photos directly to the iPad rather than loading them onto the computer and sending them to the iPad via iTunes.

laketime, how interesting that you just posted that. I just came back from buying the camera connection for my iPad about 10 minutes ago. We’re going on vacation and plan to take a lot of pictures, so I wanted to back them up every night onto my iPad, in case the camera were lost or stolen. I think it’s a very handy little gizmo.

I think there was a groupon for that camera connection thing today. This isn’t the one I was thinking of, but might be interesting: [5-in-1 iPad Camera Connection Kit + 3-in-1 iPhone / iPad Charger with USB Data Cable from RM49](http://www.groupon.my/deals/national-deal/next-biz/715948637)

iphoto on the iPad is excellent.

My D is at a science conference and took only her iPad and a stylus to take notes. She uses Evernote, I think, and it’s pretty cool…

I’d echo iTunes gift certificates. Purchasing aps is so, so much fun!

Kind of expensive…but really fantastic:

A website called padgadget has a daily apps deal listing. An array of apps go on sale every week.

Hayden, I am up at our lake home now without my laptop. I had to give DS the memory card and have him email me my photos, so glad I have an easier way to see my photos now!

laketime, our family party is on Saturday, not today, so I spent today playing with my gadget. Very, very cool, and much easier than I expected.

I still can’t figure out how to move photos from my laptop to my iPad, though. I assume there’s an app for that somehow?

I am looking to get a new iPad case, and I recently discovered Domeo Products. I found their website, domeoproducts.com, and it looks like they have some great cases. I was wondering if you have heard of them or what you think of them, anyone?

I just read about this online today and ordered one for my husband. It amplifies the sound from an iPad.

[The Amplifiear – Sound Amplifier for your iPad](http://theamplifiear.com/)

I like that amplifier. What is the cost?

All things computer related, I look to the worm for advice. Since I often take notes, I bought Pages from Apple for documents. Well worth $10. I agree that a gift card so one can chose downloads would be good.

Off topic, but the worm’s Hanukkah gift is new iPhone 5. He really likes the docking station he had for old phone, so I went to Apple store to buy a converter–$40!!!
