Accidentally sent ACT scores?

Hi all,

When I took the ACT in June, I accidentally went along with the ACT’s allowance of sending scores to four colleges for free (Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, Yale). I wouldn’t say my score is bad (34 composite, 36 english, 35 math, 32 reading, 33 science), but I was hoping to do better. I also plan on retaking the SAT in December before regular decision applications. Since I’m predicting I’ll do comparatively better on the SAT retake, will it be a huge blemish on my application since I already sent in my ACT score, especially for colleges like Harvard and Princeton that use score choice/take either test? I’m afraid my carelessness was a big mistake. Thanks.

No, it will not be a blemish on your application. 34 ACT is good enough for HYPS. In fact, I don’t even think they’ll do anything with your score (keep it on record) as you haven’t even applied yet.
