My son needs to do research at the Bancroft library in mid-to-late September. It will be for a period of 1-1/2 to 2 weeks. Any suggestions on a good inexpensive place to stay? He will not have a car but might have a bike. He is 19 and prefers to be close to the library. He has a lead on a sofa arrangement, but that’s a long time to crash on someone’s sofa/impose on someone’s hospitality even if you are young and willing. Thanks!

People’s Park.

^This is why collegeconfidential needs a like button for comments hahhah

On a more serious note you’d probably have to find a motel/hotel or something because I don’t know anywhere else that will allow such a short-term arrangement. If he has a good friend with an apartment, I doubt they’ll care too much though…

Is the Bancroft library THAT important that people go to Berkeley just to do research there :S?

^UC Berkeley has the 4th largest library collection in the nation, behind Harvard, Yale, University of Illinois. So it’s possible…

It is apparently the #1 library for his topic.
