Your citizenship might make a difference. You may not be able to work here. I just want to clarify your position.

I’m not interested in accounting but I would like to be able to use this major to branch out into banking and finance-related jobs.
From your post, I wouldn’t study accounting. It’s not the only major to get into banking and finance related. But you may get into one of these jobs and hate the job. May have to quit. Not a good idea.
