Hey, so I already took the SAT’s once and received a 2320 (800CR, 800W, 720M) last January and am taking them this coming October. However, at this point I have done all the tests in the BB and most of the tests on CB’s online course, so I am thinking of using a third party book to review a bit. What are people’s opinions on the major ones (Barrons, PR, Kaplan, ect.) and do you think it would be better for me to use these or redo some of the official released ones. I did a few about this time last year so I have basically forgotten them.

Thanks!

Why in the hell do u want to retake a 2300+ … Look forward to other parts of your app…

From here on, not a single school , can reject you for your SAT scores…

I agree that a 2320 is amazing and you certainly don’t NEED to re-take it, but if you feel like you can definitely improve and maybe even get that 2400, than I find that Barron’s is one of the most accurate third party books. You can also get Dr. Chung’s for math which is great for learning those level 4 and 5 problems which could probably help you get the 800 in math. Good Luck!

People like you shouldn’t be asking questions like this. CHILL OUT.

Aw, chill out guys! This person just wants to get his/her last few points! I’m not sure about ‘‘companies’’, but look at the math problems that you missed. Why did you get them wrong? Carelessness? Lack of knowledge?

um. I’d say chill out. Your scores are perfect! (:

When i saw you CR score i was just like O_o
HOW DIDI YOU THAT !!

Anywayzz I really don’t think you should re-take , I meam come on , all Universities - including ivys - won’t think a 2320 is different than 2400 .

But if you realky insest , get Barron’s , It really over prepares you , It’s very harder than the real deal .
PR 11 practice tests is next , it’s a bit harder than the real thing but not as hard as Barron’s .

AGAIN, DON’T RETAKE , YOU’LL BE WASTING YOUR TIME , MONEY AND EFFORT .

lol for sure^^
How did you get that CR and W so high? THe highest CR I’ve gotten is like a 620 -___-‘’ And for writing, I get around 720 on SATs and 59 on PSAT WT CRAPP.

You should help me duddeee (:

It’s fine if this person wants to retake it, it’s their choice :P

I’ve tried lots of third-party books (my scores aren’t as high as yours though, by the way) and I recommend Barron’s and McGraw-Hill’s. Maybe you should just review math concepts though and buy math workbooks because that seems to be your only struggle.

Any tips on critical reading? :D

It’s your choice, but you should be slapped back to your senses in my opinion.

Do not listen to these people. If you scored 800 on the other parts, you can definitely score 800 on math. If you want to retake, retake.

I have the 11 princeton review tests book, and I don’t think the questions are like the ones on the SAT, because they intentionally make the wording more confusing. They’re still helpful for prepping you for the test though.

Barrons 2400?
I think you should retake as your math score seems quite avg for ivy league caliber schools. Your total score is GREAT but if you can get that math up, you’ll be golden.

^Coming from a rising tenth grader so don’t take very seriously :)

This issue comes up pretty often on this site (and contributes to its reputation as a hotbed of neuroses!) and yet:

No one can tell you not to try for a higher score if you think you can earn one because at the end of the game, you never get to find out what was the reason you did or did not get in to any particular school. So no one can criticize you for leaving no stone unturned.

However, that said…you do also need to consider the opportunity cost of your efforts. Are you going to have to put in a lot of prep time to chase those points? Is there anything else productive you could do with that time to make you a better candidate (or happier person)? That’s a personal question that no one can answer for you.

Either way, congrats on the great scores.

I d like to swap my math score with your CR and W scores. :)
