My ACT score was 35, and I am very pleased with it, but my SAT was only 2000. I only took the SAT once to satisfy the National Merit Semifinalist requirement, as I only got a 210 on the PSAT and wasn’t originally intending to take the SAT at all. However, I used the free opportunity to send my score to colleges at registration (I’m aware I didn’t really think it through) and now I am concerned that schools won’t be impressed with my high ACT score in light of my low SAT score. At this point, it’s late enough I can’t take the test again. Do I have reason to be concerned?
No reason to be concerned, they won’t penalize you for a low score if there’s a high one, too.
Well, they could penalize you for a low score…but they will view your improvement as just that-an improvement.
@theofrelord No, colleges will look at a student’s highest score. They want to put each applicant’s best foot forward. Most explicitly state this under their testing information.
Thanks, guys! That’s incredibly reassuring!
