ACT composite scores

Do colleges combine ACT scores when evaluating applications? My daughter has a 32 and 33 composite, but if you take the high scores of each section her overall score is a 34. Just wondering…

I don’t think so. They might look and realize this, but probably not. I was in the exact same position, and I never really found out.

But I will say that I got into Cornell and Northwestern with those scores. But I also had strong SAT IIs(800,770,720) and decent SAT Is (1420/2190)

Thanks dsmo, it’s so hard to know what is true and what isn’t. I would assume that the colleges look at the whole picture.

They look at the whole picture, but they don’t mix and match ACT scores…your daughter’s score will be considered a 33 at everywhere except a few schools like Wash U and Rose-Hulman, which do mix and match.
