ACT E/W section

<p>How much attention to colleges pay to the combined English/Writing section? I had a 34 on the ACT but a 31 on the E/W, and I’m wondering how bad, if bad at all, that looks. Thanks.</p>

<p>Colleges tend not to pay that much attention to the essay portion of either the SAT or the ACT; they know that the quality of essay you write in 25 minutes doesn’t really mean much.</p>
