I was working on one of the ACT english tests in the official book and came across a grammar question. Just to clarify:

Is the correct way to say it: “In the morning of a spring day, I walked to the store” or “On the morning of a spring day, I walked to the store”.?
I know that it would be “On the morning of, say, June 12, 2012, I walked to the store” and that it would be “In the dusk of a summer evening, I walked to the store.”

I’m just not sure. Can you also explain your reasoning? Thank you so much!!
