ACT English

I took the act three tunes and got 30, 32, and 34. I got 31 on english when I got my 34, but I know that I could get 34+ because I got 34, 35, and 36 on the red book tests I took. Should I retake the act to raise my english score (i got 32, 32, and 31) or will colleges overlook it? Will they think I’m too obsessive about my scores if I retake it?

I think it depends. If it comes down to you and a few others they might…

I improved my ACT English from 18 to 34-36…

I’ll give you a couple of tricks.

1.You are human.
Don’t just learn what you get wrong. Try to understand the patterns within the test itself.
For example, I realized I would get rhetorical questions wrong simply because I picked the answer choices that contained “understatement, personification, etc…” (Personification is an easy term, so don’t expect it on the test).

After learning a handful of those terms, my ability in the rhetorical questions improved quite a lot. Though, as a guideline, you usually shouldn’t pick answers with weird terms in it, as not ALL highschoolers take AP English.

Just doing simple things like this will help you stand above the average population.
Practice, Practice, Patterns, Practice.
GOOD LUCK.
