<p>I thought I did a really good job on my ACT essay but I got a 7 and the comment was: “Your essay adequately supported general statements with specific reasons, examples, and details. Your essay maintained focus on the specific issue in the prompt.” what exactly does that mean and how can I improve it??</p>
<p>They are reciting their scoring rubric. They could have skipped everything and simply said, “Your essay was adequate.” Not ‘superior’, not ‘exceptional’…‘adequate’. Of course you could have seen that by the score.</p>
<p>I’m unable to tell you much about how you specifically can improve your score without seeing an actual essay.</p>
