<p>How does this effect your overall composite score? Your overall English score?? I’m somewhat confused as to how it changes the score.</p>
<p>It doesn’t.</p>
<p>The ACT gives you FOUR things:</p>
<p>1) a composite based on E, W, R and S.
2) your essay score, 2-12. This is entirely independent of your composite.
3) your combined English-writing score, again entirely independent of your comopsite.
4) random subscores (plane geometry vs. algebra, etc)</p>
