ACT HELp Is it normal to run out of time?

I just took the ACT today. I am recovering from and illness and am on medications that slow down my thinking process. For example, it takes me twice as long to read a page in a book as it does my friend. I was given limited accommodations to the ACT, NOT including extended time. I cant wait 3-6 weeks for the results before re-applying for Extended time and a second test because it will be too late for the college that I want to apply for early admission to. (In order to finish the second test before application due dates, I would have to get the paper work in by an upcoming dead line that occurs before I would receive the first test’ scores.)

My main question is: Is it normal to not have enough time at the end of the sections and need to guess for a bunch of the questions?

I need to know if my performance was normal or due to my health issues so that I know if I need to re apply now.

On the English test, I finished 1 minute early. (Read and finished all questions)

On the Math test, I ended so behind that I couldn’t read 9-15 left over questions and had to fill in the bubbles without even looking at possible answers.

I had to guess for 4 or 5 of the Reading questions.

And I had to guess for 8-15 Science questions.

Sometimes I have issues with comprehending. Some days I am a bit foggy and have to re read a passage several times before I even grasp what it is talking about due to the medicine. Although I tapering off of them and adjusting them(mostly antihistamines), I still think that they may be affecting me.

I took the timed full practice test via the ACT website and was able to get to EVERY question! I scored pretty high on reading (32) and Science (34) and am worried because of how different the experience was between the practice test and the real thing. This sounds bad, but I am a very good reader and have excellent pacing and test-method skills so I don’t see how I could have been so off from one day, literally to the next (I took the practice test the day before the real test).

Does the practice test accurately reflect the real thing? Is it normal to make as many guesses as I did? Is it worth it to apply for the extended time considering all of this info?

My main concerns are that I want to get a 29 or higher (and am fully capable of doing so proven by my practice composites of 31 and 33) but it takes a lot for me and my counselor to do do the work to get the accommodation; I need to figure out if guessing as much as I did was normal or if it is because of my health issue, as well as, judging from my given practice scores, how much all of the guess will affect my score.

Thank you so much!!
