Someone want to explain to me how colleges can require subject tests but accept the ACT in place of them?

You don’t need to know anything about science to get a really good score on the ACT but if you try and take a chemisty/physics/biology/etc without knowing anything you are finished. Fact of the matter is that subject tests give another dimension to an applicant showing they actually know the material they are studying in school. ACT does nothing of that sort.
