ACT prep fail

I planned to study a lot this summer for the September ACT but I am loaded with AP homework; therefore, I have done minimum practice. Nevertheless, I have to read 3 books for the AP homework. Will this help me improve my reading score? And is it necessary to practice for the ACT to improve from a 28 to a 31? Or will my loaded summer homework help me on the way there.

Any advice is appreciated.

It might help. but mostly don’t worry so much. Just get through it. My D2 is also taking a speed reading course this summer before her final ACT try this fall. She’d like to raise the score by 2 pts and feels this is doable by focussing on getting an even better score in her strong areas (verbal/comprehension).

The thing that helped me most with improving my reading score was taking ap lang… The questions on the ap lang ap test were the same type of question just a lot harder, so te reading part of the act seemed simple! Have u taken ap lang?
