I took my ACT for the first time in June and got a 25. I didn’t really study for it, and my main weakness was the science section. I’m aiming for a 28/29 and I was wondering, what are the best prep books/materials to study for the ACT? What has worked for you? and is my goal reasonable?

Alkaalice,

I was in the same boat as you. I went in cold to my first test and got a 25. I studied using “The Real ACT” book and got my score to a 29. It is the only book published by ACT and is the most accurate in my opinion. Best of luck!

“The Real ACT” is good. A bunch of publishing companies put out ACT books as well – Arco, Peterson’s, Kaplan, etc. Get some books and practice practice practice.

Alright, thanks so much, that makes me feel much more confident! I’ll make sure to get that book.
