Not sure about the first english one but for number 2, I think it’s not G because “just as” implies time. “I hid the magazines just as my parents came home.”

For the math one, the square root can be negative or positive. the square root of 25 is 5 or -5.

But according to the explanation from the book, the result of the square root of (-x)^2 is the same as the absolute value of -x. So doesn’t that imply that only the positive square root counts?

For the english question, you mainly have to choose the best answer that get straight to the point. Answer F gets straight to the ponit, whereas answer G is a bit wordy.

For the math problem i am also am little confused. I think you really only have a negative an a positve square root when you have a radical sign in fornt of a # that is not a perfect square. Thats my guess.

If you have only one sister, write “My sister, Karen, won the spelling bee.”
If you have more than one sister, write “My sister Karen won the spelling bee,” because the name is essential to identify who you’re talking about.
