ACT Reading/English questions for FEB TEST!

post them here, answers or questions. i’ll start. what were teh researchers concerned about in the Smoky Mountains passage?

was that one of the last questions? i think for that one i put 200 plot lands or whatever

Was 200 plots the answer or part of the question? if it was in the answer, that’s what I got.

yeah that was an answer I got

What was the one about the memeories of the mother who told stories and had her kids drink tea?

I don’t remember 200 at all lol.

oh, there was one question on english that i wasn’t sure about… it was in the one about the guy who wanted to get organized. Something about “like with like” and I left it as no change.

So did I. The others were too wordy.

That’s what I picked too. Was the passage trying to persuade organization?

I actually put entertain for that one. I was thinking about putting persuade, but then I was like, what was his argument? There really wasn’t one.

yea it was like with like. Did anyone else have several no changes toward the end of the test?

I think the purpose was to entertain.

I also put entertain for the organization essay. It seemed less formal and just more fluffy than the other essays. The writer also wasn’t really arguing anything.

What did you guys put for the jumble question? The one where it was asking "should it stop at jumble or keep it or use this or this?

I put keep it because it adds descriptive qualities or something of the sort.

That’s what I put as well.

One question stands out to me: the mother and the casa passage. What is the deal with “yerba”? It came down to two answer choices for me–1) cure to be used sparingly or 2) first step in treating an illness.

I picked #2

I picked #2 too ;)

Whew! Me too.

ya definitely first step because it said if yerba didn’t work the el doctor would come…haha

what was bioprospecting in the last reading passage?
and did teachers have it much better than labor workers before 1920?
