I wanted a 30, but I don’t any hope that I do good so now I am thinking at least 27 is good for me.

In school I am doing very well. I have a 3.9 GPA and 2 AP classes so it doesn’t match my GPA with ACT score. But the problem is I am too too slow in ACT. I can’t understand anything, if I read the passage in about 2-4 minutes. I will get the main point, but usually I forget the details the passage and I am not able to analyze and infer the passage. It takes too much time for me. After i got my December score I didn’t have any hope.

just try some more practice tests. I have pretty much the same problem, i can never finish all the passages and my reading score is always my lowest. I have, however, able to raise it from a 26 to a 30. Since ur only a junior, u have time to practice.

if you want a 30 composite, i suggest you also raise some of your other scores to above 30 if u really can’t raise ur reading score. =D

Right now I have about 5 practice ACT books and I am practicing, but I am just too slow at reading which also affects my other score too because you still need to read in other sections.

In school I take my time to read so I don’t have any trouble.

Hi I’m also a junior and in need of help
My math and science scores are solid (36 and 34, respectively), but my English and Reading score don’t seem to go up(24 and 25, respectively)…
What should I do?

Perhaps if you have money you could hire a tutor to teach you to take these tests
You could take a reading course/focus on speed reading
YOu could start reading all the time (stop using cc, facebook, tv)practice ACT/SAT prep books as well on your own
You should start looking at SAT optional schools-there are a lot of good ones

Take the practice tests a lot! they really do help. i raised my score from a 28 to a 32 in one try because i took a lot of practice tests. and one thing that will really help your reading score is reading. Pick up a book instead of watching tv. it will really help improve your reading speed and comprehension skills
